Snowstorm prompts changes in year-end ceremonies

Published:

Chadron State College has revised its schedule for end-of-the-year ceremonies because of the snowstorm that blanketed the region. Ivy Day has been moved from tonight to noon Saturday. It will be in Armstrong Gym instead of Memorial Hall.

The graduation ceremony for students receiving master’s and specialist’s degrees will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Hall and the ceremony for undergraduates will be at 3 p.m. in Armstrong Gym. Rehearsal for the undergraduate commencement will be at 4 p.m. today, as previously scheduled.

Earlier today, it was announced that students living in the residence halls will be able to stay on campus until the roads become safe for travel. The original check-out time of 5 p.m. Friday has been extended to a time to be determined later.

“Because of the road conditions, we are advising the students to stay where they are safe,” said Sherri Simons, CSC director of residence life.
