Chadron State College has $156,582 more for scholarships and other campus support, thanks to its annual fall fund-raising campaign.

College employees and other community members gathered Thursday night for the campaign's annual victory party at Country Kitchen.

Each fall, six-person teams of college employees and other members of the community are assembled to approach people for donations. A point system is used to determine top teams in each category, and prizes are awarded to the winners.

The winning team from the community side this year is Deb and Jerry Evans, Dave Coe, Rich Stahla, Bob Zahm and Tammie Scheopner. The winners on the college side are Dawn Brammer, Kathy Stokey, Deb Keim, Lorie Hunn, Brenda Barry-Schommer and Sally Katen.

Prior to each fall's campaign, a group of chairmen are chosen to assist and guide the effort. This year's group was Terri Haynes, Larry Yates, Ted Vastine, Jamie Waldo and Deena Kennell. The five performed a humorous skit with a political theme Thursday while handing out a variety of awards to campaign volunteers.

Karen Pope, CSC director of alumni and annual giving, said donor support is vital to the success of CSC and its students. She said total contributions will continue to grow as result of other annual giving efforts throughout the fiscal year.
