Corrections director tells students about state's system
Robert Houston, director of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services, described the day in the life of a prisoner and gave Chadron State College students other insights to the Nebraska correctional system during a presentation last week. Houston spoke in the Student Center on Friday, Oct. 3, as part of the CSC Justice Studies Speaker Series.
He also told the students about internship and job opportunities in the Department of Correctional Services.
Houston has been in his current position since March 2005. He began his career in corrections as a counselor at the Nebraska State Penitentiary in 1974 and later served as warden at three institutions.
