Wind Symphony to make debut

Published:

The Chadron State College Wind Symphony will give its premier performance during a concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26 in Memorial Hall.

Directed by Dr. Adam Lambert, the symphony replaces the CSC wind ensemble. Lambert said the new group “features 47 of the finest woodwind, brass, and percussion student-musicians at CSC.” He added that some outstanding freshmen have joined the returning instrumental musicians this year to form the strongest group he has worked with in his three years as the college’s director of bands.

Numbers on the program will include “The English Folk Song Suite” by Ralph Vaughan Williams, “October” by Eric Whitacre, “The Klaxon” by Henry Fillmore and some circus music, “The Big Cage,” by Carl King.

Advance tickets may be obtained through the Memorial Hall box office, which is open from 4 to 6 p.m. each weekday. They are $5 for adults and $3 for senior citizens and youths 18 and under. Tickets may be reserved by calling 432-6360 or via e-mail at boxoffice@csc.edu

There is no charge for CSC personnel if the tickets are obtained in advance. All tickets at the door are $6.
