Sparks Hall dedication is Sunday

Published:

Chadron State College will celebrate the renovation and expansion of Sparks Hall, its new administration headquarters, during a dedication and cornerstone laying ceremony Sunday.

The celebration will be on the building’s new concrete patio at 2 p.m. It is open to the public. The Masons will lay a new cornerstone for the building and an open house will follow. Students serving as presidential diplomats will conduct tours.

The project, which cost about $2.6 million, is being completed to free up space for new classrooms in the Administration Building. About 4,700 square feet was added to the existing structure to create a 17,218 square-foot facility.

Sparks Hall has been used as apartments in recent years, but was transformed during the past year to create offices for administrators and CSC support personnel who were housed in the Administration Building and other locations on campus.
