Two major events will take place at Chadron State College on Wednesday, April ll.

One is the first Creative Scholarly Celebration for students and faculty. It is being supported by Vision 2011 funding and will feature research proposals and projects, scholarly discussions and artistic activities. It will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Student Center. It will be open to the public.

The participants will be available to discuss their displays during a reception from 3:30 to 5 p.m. It is anticipated that the celebration will become an annual event to help recognize the scholarship, creativity and energy that emerges from Chadron State.

The second event is Career Day where approximately 50 prospective employers will be in attendance to meet and interview CSC students who will be graduating in 2007. Previous graduates who are seeking employment also are welcome to attend.

Deena Kennell, director of internship and career services at CSC, is coordinating Career Day. She said many of the business, industries and governmental agencies that have made reservations to participate indicated they have specific jobs to fill.

“We’re very excited to have so many prospective employers coming to the campus,” Kennell said. “It’s a great opportunity for the students who will be graduating in May or even within the next year to gain employment.”

Career Day will be in the Student Center Ballroom from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
