Jazz Birds playing Christmas music

Published:

The Jazz Birds of Chadron State College will perform their set of rhythm and blues Christmas tunes at Wrecker's Roadhouse in downtown Chadron on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 8 p.m.

The group will sing many standards such as "Merry Christmas Baby," "Boogie Woogie Santa Claus," "Santa Baby" and "Cool Yule."

"Since arriving in Chadron I've been fortunate in that I am able to program fun music that I enjoy like Phil Spector's version of ‘Sleigh Ride’ from his famous 1963 ‘A Christmas Gift to You’ album,” said Dr Sandy Schaefer, the group's leader and arranger. “I'm also fortunate to have a steady supply of great singers like Rana Tucker."
