Two Chadron State College staff members and two students will be spending spring break next week helping museums in New Orleans recover from the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina in August 2005.

Sarah Polak, director of the Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center and instructor of applied history, has arranged the trip. Accompanying her will be Deb Carpenter, who teaches composition; Carpenter’s daughter, Jessica, a CSC sophomore from Rushville; and Cassandra Race, a sophomore from Bartlett, Neb.

Polak said they will leave Saturday and plan to spend five days working at a variety of museums. She said they plan to send daily reports on their activities to the campus.
