CSC to graduate 148 on Friday

A total of 148 degrees will be conferred during winter commencement exercises at Chadron State College on Friday, Dec. 14. The program will be in the Armstrong Building at 5 p.m.
Thirty-four master’s and specialist’s degrees will be awarded. The others will be bachelor’s degrees. The graduation list includes 25 who completed work on their degrees in the summer.
The speaker will be Dr. JoAnne Owens-Nauslar of Lincoln, a Chadron State graduate who has spent 37 years promoting the benefits of healthy active living and is considered one of the nation’s most vocal personalities about issues of physical activity. She is director of corporate and community development for GeoFitness, Inc., based in Orlando, Fla.
The exercises also will include "moments of reflection" by Matt Weingart of Alliance, bachelor of science degree candidate, and Aimee VanderFeen of Sioux Falls, S.D., a former CSC professional staff member who is being awarded a master of arts. The CSC brass quintet will provide the music and the colors will be presented by CSC's ROTC unit.
Seating for the ceremony will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Live video of the event will be broadcast on Chadron cable channel 20.
