Choral concert at Arts Center to feature variety

A wide variety of musical styles will be performed during the Chadron State College’s Choral Ensembles Concert this weekend. The event begins at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Chadron Arts Center at Fourth and King streets.

The concert will feature more than a dozen selections and the singing of more than 60 student vocalists. Featured groups are the the concert choir and men’s vocal ensemble directed by Dr. Joel Schreuder, and the women’s vocal ensemble conducted by Dr. Una Taylor.

The choirs plan to perform musical styles from traditional to contemporary. The selections range from Josef Rheinberger’s “Brief Mass in F” to “Marry a Woman Uglier than You.”

Advance tickets may be reserved at a reduced price by contacting the CSC Box Office at (308) 432-6360 or boxoffice@csc.edu. It is open 4-6 p.m. each weekday. Seating is free for CSC students and employees who reserve tickets in advance. All tickets at the door will be $6.
