Canned food drive to begin soon

Published:

The Student Athlete Advisory Committee at Chadron State College will conduct a canned food drive Nov. 5-16 to collect items for the Neighbors in Need program that provides noon meals each weekday in Chadron.

John Strand of Imperial, a senior who helps represent the CSC football team on SAAC, said college employees and students will be encouraged to deposit canned goods at designated boxes in nearly every building on campus during the drive. In addition, CSC athletes will go door to door in the community the evening of Thursday, Nov. 15, to collect more items, Strand said.

Neighbors In Need is sponsored by the Chadron Ministerial Association. The meals are available to individuals who may otherwise go without eating. The meals are served at the former Eitemiller Service Station at Third and Lake Streets.
