Wind ensemble concert is Monday night
The Chadron State College wind ensemble is beginning its spring tour today (Thursday, April 6). The band will give concerts at Converse County High School in Douglas, Wyo., and Central High School in Cheyenne today.
On Friday afternoon, the Chadron State group will join with the wind ensemble at Colorado State University at Fort Collins for a concert. That evening, the CSC musicians will attend a concert by the Colorado Symphony Orchestra in Denver.
After returning to Chadron, the CSC ensemble will have its spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 10 in Memorial Hall. No admission will be charged.
Also performing will be a brass quintet, a flute trio and a clarinet quartet.
The CSC director of bands, Adam Lambert, said numbers by the wind ensemble will include the John Philip Sousa march “Fairest of the Fair,” “Amazing Grace,” “Brook Green Suite” and the Percy Granger arrangement of “Irish Tune From County Derry.”
One of the brass quintet’s numbers will be “St. Louis Blues.”
