Tickets are available for a Galaxy Series presentation by The Western Wind in Memorial Hall at Chadron State College at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3.

The Western Wind is a vocal sextet that has devoted itself to “the special beauty and variety of a cappella music.” It has been performing throughout the United States and Europe since 1969. The group often is featured on National Public Radio.

Although the New York City-based ensemble has a vast repertoire, the presentation at Chadron State will be “My Funny Valentine” made up of jazz and popular music.

The ensemble has won rave reviews. The New York Times called one of its performances “enterprising and supremely polished” and in another review reported: “As fresh and stimulating a concert as this listener has attended in quite some time. Long may The Western Wind blow; long may its sounds renew and challenge us.”

Reservations may be made through the Memorial Hall box office, which is open from 2 to 5 p.m. each weekday. The telephone number is 432-6360. Tickets obtained in advance are $10 for adults, $9 for those 65 and better and $6 for youths 18 and under.

Chadron State students and employees will be admitted without charge if they obtain their tickets in advance at the box office. All tickets at the door will be $11.
