Tyler Pribbeno, a junior from Imperial, has been appointed Chadron State College’s student representative on the Board of Trustees of the Nebraska State College System. The appointment was announced earlier this month by Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman.

Pribbeno is a work study student in CSC’s Andrews Hall and a representative on the Campus Activities Board for the Political Science Club. For two summers, he served as an assistant camp director of Science Camps Offer Rewarding Experiences, known by its acronym SCORE. He also has been a volunteer with Special Olympics activities at CSC.

Last fall, Pribbeno helped organize Constitution Day events at Chadron State, which promoted student awareness of the U.S. Constitution.

Pribbeno said that participating in the NSCS Board of Trustees meetings will allow him to gain important insight about politics in state higher education.

The new student appointments from the three state colleges will begin attending meetings in June. The other two members are Peru State College’s Crystal Ellis of Humboldt and Wayne State’s Michael Jacobsen of Laurel.

Pribbeno is the third consecutive CSC legal studies student to be appointed to the board. He succeeds Carla Giger of Alliance.
