Books, periodicals, journals, and, now, lattes and espressos. The Reta King Library at Chadron State College began a different flavor of service Monday when it opened a Starbucks coffee shop in its basement.

The new shop, which is operated by college food service vendor Creative Dining Services, offers an extensive line of Starbucks products and is open to the public. It is open Monday through Friday 7:30-10:30 a.m. and Monday through Thursday 6-9 p.m.

Milton Wolf, library director, said the new shop is the result of student requests, and is one of a number of new initiatives to increase traffic in the library.
