New education professor at CSC

A new assistant professor of educational administration will be joining the Chadron State College faculty when classes begin on Monday, Aug. 21. He is Dr. Arthur Borgemenke, who was born in Ohio, but has lived most of his life in El Paso, Texas.

Borgemenke earned his bachelor’s degree from New Mexico State University in 1994. While there, he was president of the College of Education’s student council, was a student senator, made the National Deans List and was named to Who’s Who Among Students in America’s Colleges and Universities.

Borgemenke earned his master’s degree from Texas Tech University in 1996 and his doctorate from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2001.

Since earning the latter degree in 2001, he has been an adjunct professor and visiting professor at UTEP. He also has assisted a public school administration with programs to raise students’ literacy and achievement levels .

In addition, Borgemenke said he is about two-thirds finished on a contract with Prentice-Hall to write a book on second language literacy.

Borgemenke replaces Dr. Jerry Neff, who returned to Colorado after working at Chadron State the past two years. The new CSC professor and his wife Gloria have a five-year-old son, Edward.
