In addition, Caleb Lund of Lusk, Wyo., has been accepted into the veterinary school at Colorado State University at Fort Collins.

Two former health professions majors at Chadron State who are now practicing in the Panhandle spoke at the dinner when the students who will be going to professional schools were honored.

They are Mike Moravec, a native of David City who is a physical therapist in Sidney, and his wife, Lisa Miller Moravec, a graduate of Potter-Dix High School and a dental hygienist and instructor for UNMC in Gering.

They advised the departing students to study hard, but assured them that after the training they have received at CSC they will be well-prepared for the professional school curriculum.

“Because of Chadron State’s outstanding training in anatomy and physiology, you will be way ahead of all the other students when you go to Omaha,” Mike said. “You get a wonderful foundation here for what’s ahead. I can’t say enough about the preparation I received here.”

Lisa advised the students to use the same study habits that worked for them as undergraduates and to participate in activities outside the classrooms and laboratories.

She also stated that in order to keep pace with the many changes in the health professions, they will need continue studying after they complete their professional school training.
