Inauguration for CSC president is Friday

Published:

Final preparations are taking place for Friday’s inauguration of Chadron State College’s 10th president, Dr. Janie Park. The festivities will begin with a pair of events that are open to the public free of charge -- the inauguration ceremony at 5 p.m. in Memorial Hall and the following reception at the Edna Work Hall lobby. A banquet at the Student Center, which required reservations, will conclude the evening.

Loree MacNeill, CSC director of college relations and cultural programs, said the banquet will conclude with fireworks at the ampitheater to the northwest of the Student Center.

There has been a change to the speaking schedule at the banquet. The presidents of the other two state colleges, Ben Johnson of Peru State College and Richard Collings of Wayne State College, will appear in place of Nebraska State College System Chancellor Stan Carpenter. Carpenter is recovering from surgery after suffering a knee injury last week.

More information about the inauguration may be found by visiting the celebration’s Web site, accessible from a link at the college’s home page, www.csc.edu.
