Health Professions Day is Wednesday

More than 200 students from about 30 high schools will learn about occupations in health care when they attend Health Professions Day at Chadron State College on Wednesday, Oct. 4.

Faculty and staff from the University of Nebraska Medical Center will join local health care professionals to present sessions about 11 health care occupations. There also will be a session that focuses on a pair of popular cooperative educational programs available through Chadron State -- the Rural Health Opportunities Program with UNMC and the High Plains Health Opportunities Program with Creighton University.

 

The event also will feature a panel discussion led by Chadron State students who are completing their pre-professional course work.

Health Professions Day will begin at 8 a.m. and conclude with campus visits at 2 p.m.

Ainsworth, Alliance, Bennett County (S.D.), Bridgeport, Burwell, Callaway, Chadron, Crawford, Garden County, Gering, Gordon, Grand Island Northwest, Guernsey-Sunrise (Wyo.), Hershey, Kimball, Leyton, Loup County, Morrill, North Platte, Ogallala, Peetz (Colo.), Pine Ridge Job Corps, Potter-Dix, Scottsbluff, Sidney, Silver Lake, Sioux County, Stuart, Valentine and Wallace.
