Graduate earns teaching award in Kansas
A 1987 Chadron State College graduate, Terri Scofield Gaeddert, received the McCreery Teaching Award during spring commencement at Sterling College in Kansas.
A native of Ogallala, Gaeddert has been an assistant professor of education at Sterling College the past four years. She was a mathematics major at Chadron State. While at CSC, she was the college’s student representative on the Board of Trustees of the Nebraska State Colleges in 1985-86 and was the homecoming queen in 1985.
The McCreery Teaching Award was established in honor of Sterling College’s fourth president, William M. McCreery, and has been awarded annually since 1977 to a faculty member for providing unusually noteworthy and innovative instruction.
In addition to her teaching duties at Sterling, Gaeddert has been selected by the Kansas State Department of Education to be a curriculum developer for a middle level licensure program.
Terri and her husband Tim have two sons.
