Eagles adopt new logo
Chadron State College's nine sports team will usher in a new look as they begin the 2006-07 school year.
The athletic programs have adopted a new logo that features a fierce eagle head peering through the center of a stylized letter C.
The new mark was adopted to give Chadron State a unique image in its sports marketing efforts.
"Although our former logo was effective, it too closely resembled that of the NFL's Philadelphis Eagles," said Brad Smith, CSC athletic director. "We wanted a mark that could make us stand out. I am excited that we now have a logo that gistinguishes us from the many other sports teams in the nation that use the eagle as their mascot. Hopefully, this one will be even more popular than our old one."
Chadron State will now begin the process of replacing the old mark, which has been used for most of the past decade, with the new one.
The new logo was created this summer by Logo Design Works, a Columbus, Ohio, design company.
