Tracy J. Shuck, director of dining services at Chadron State College, has been certified in the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation’s Foodservice Management Professional certification program. The FMP credential distinguishes restaurant and food service managers who have achieved a high level of knowledge, experience, leadership and professionalism within the industry.

Shuck earned the FMP designation after successfully meeting the program’s experience and educational requirements and passing a comprehensive exam.

The National Restaurant Association promotes the FMP credential as a way managers can celebrate their achievements, expand their network, discover opportunities, distinguish themselves, open professional doors, continue learning, impact their organization, be a mentor, advance their career and realize success.

Shuck has been the director of dining services at Chadron State College for six years. He also has been ServSafe Certified by the National Restaurant Association for excellence in food safety and sanitation for nine years.

Chadron State College’s food service is managed by Creative Dining Services of Zeeland, Michigan.

“I would like to congratulate Tracy on receiving his FMP certificate,” said Kim Zylstra, Creative Dining Service’s regional operations director. “Obviously, he has worked hard to receive this and I can think of no one more deserving. He continues to show his professionalism and skill in his management of Chadron State College Dining Services. I am constantly impressed with his understanding and capture of the big picture. He has served the college and Creative Dining Services well. I also believe that he would be the first manager within the Creative Dining Services organization that has received this recognition.”

The FMP certification is administered by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to developing, promoting and providing educational and training solutions for the restaurant and food service industry.
