The Child Development Center at Chadron State College celebrated Week of the Young Child on April 2-8. In honor of the week, Chadron Mayor John Gamby visited the center in March to sign a proclamation.

The Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the world's largest early childhood education association, with nearly 100,000 members and a network of over 300 local, state, and regional affiliates.

The purpose of the Week of the Young Child is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.

Located on the Chadron State College campus, the Child Development Center is a nationally accredited and licensed early childhood program that provides developmentally appropriate learning opportunities for children. The center introduces children to a planned curriculum and positive learning environment to help children grow socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually.
