Career Fair is Tuesday

Nearly 50 potential employers are expected at the 2006 Career Fair at Chadron State College on Tuesday, April 11. The event will be in the Student Center Ballroom from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Deena Kennell, director of internship and career services at CSC, said entities from as far away as Denver and Cheyenne have requested space for the fair. She said the list includes retail businesses, financial firms, insurance companies, government agencies, corrections facilities and graduate schools.

Kennell said the fair will be open to both students who will be graduating this spring and those who are seeking internships. She added that students who are two or three years away from graduation are invited to look at the materials the prospective employers have and meet the recruiters.

Core Impact, a firm based at Callaway, Neb., will present three seminars during the fair that CSC students should find useful. They are “Moving from Student to the Career Path,” “Critical Leadership Skills” and Do’s and Don’t of e Etiquette.”

Last Friday, Career Services hosted Teacher Interview Day. The event drew 36 school districts and more than 100 candidates for teaching positions.
