Tickets limited for Omaha Symphony concert

Published:

Only a limited number of tickets remain for the performance by the Omaha Symphony’s chamber orchestra in Memorial Hall at Chadron State College on Thursday, Jan. 27. The concert is a part of Chadron State’s Galaxy Series. Conductor Ernest Richardson will give a pre-concert talk beginning at 7 p.m. The concert will open at 7:30.

The orchestra will begin the concert with excerpts from Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” and Haydn’s “Vilolin Concerto No. 4 in G Major.”

Following intermission, the orchestra will present Mendelssohn’s overture to “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and Beethovan’s “Eighth Symphony.”

The orchestra last performed at Chadron State in November 2002. The concerts are nearly always sold out. It is anticipated that attendance at Omaha Symphony performances will exceed 300,000 this year.

Reservations may be made by calling the CSC box office at 432-6360. Tickets obtained in advance are $10 for adults and $5 for youths through high school. All tickets at the door, if available, will be $11.
