Student senators elected

Karissa Johnson, a junior human biology student from Hershey, was elected the 2005-2006 Chadron State College Student Senate president last week. She will succeed Ryan Morgan, a senior from Ogallala.

The new vice president is Corey Wasserburger of Fort Worth, Texas, a junior studying political science.

The senators were elected by a vote of 402 students, which represented 15.8 percent of the student body.

School of Professional and Graduate Studies – Rebecca Hoekema, Sidney, junior, elementary social science and elementary music education; Brenda Petersen, Douglas, Wyo., sophomore, art.

School of Arts and Sciences – Michael Blount, Valentine, junior, environmental studies; Travis Dickey, sophomore, Morrill, pre-medicine; Elizabeth Bay, sophomore, Sutherland, human biology.

At Large – Mary Andrews, sophomore, Rapid City, S.D., criminal justice.
