Tomak Whitney, a resident of Chadron State College’s West Court housing facility, was found dead at his apartment early Friday afternoon. Services are pending for Whitney, who turned 34 years of age last Wednesday.

Whitney had obtained an associate’s degree from Western Nebraska Community College in 2002 and completed enough credit hours to be a senior at CSC. He was studying information science and technology with a minor in electronics.

“On behalf of myself and Chadron State College, I offer my condolences to Tomak’s family and friends during this difficult time,” said Dr. Janie Park, CSC president. “I encourage those in the Chadron State family who would like to talk to someone about Tomak’s death to contact our counseling services.”

CSC counselors are located in Crites Hall and may be reached at (308) 432-6461 or 6242. Counselors Jerry Cassiday and Jo Hunter may be reached at 432-5138 or 432-5529, respectively, Saturday and Sunday.
