Chadron State College has a new reference librarian. James Britsch of Orem, Utah, began duties at the Reta King Library last month.

As reference librarian, Britsch is responsible for showing people how to use the library. He also will coordinate the library’s Information Literacy Program, manage its electronic database program and teach library media courses.

Britsch comes to Chadron State with experience in electronic information and Web site development.

Britsch earned a master’s degree in library and information science from the University of North Texas, where he worked one year as a graduate library assistant. Britsch also holds a bachelor’s degree in English literary studies from Utah State University.

He and his wife, Brittany, have a 7-month-old son, Thomas.
