Many musicians to attend High Plains Festival at CSC

The students were selected by taped auditions. Two bands and two choirs will rehearse and then present a concert at 5 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Hall.

The honor band will be directed by James Slutz, director of music business programs at Indiana State University at Terre Haute from 1989 until his retirement last year. The honor choir will be directed by Dr. Richard Nance, associate director of choral activities at Pacific Lutheran University at Tacoma, Wash., since 1992.

Dr. William Winkle, band director at Chadron State and founder of the High Plains Festival, will direct the festival band and Dr. Joel Schreuder, director of choral activities at CSC, will conduct the festival choir
