Endowed internships offered at Sandoz Center
This summer will mark the first year that students at Chadron State College will work at the Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center with endowed internships.
Three internships, which were established during the center’s construction campaign, will be awarded ranging from $500 to $750.
Sarah Polak, director of the Sandoz Center, said the students will learn about many facets of running a museum, including working with the textile collection, archival collections and public programming. She said the duties of each internship will change each year as the needs of the center and the college change.
Polak said that Chadron State is the first institution of the Nebraska State College System to offer endowed internships. They are named for supporters of the Sandoz Center -- Don and Elenor Green, Mary Jane Barnes Gottschalk, and William and Frances Lindeken.
The application deadline for the internships is Friday, April 15. More information about the opportunity may be obtained by contacting the Office of Internships and Career Placement at (308) 432-6388.
