CSC students, professor appointed to commission
A pair of Chadron State College business students and one faculty member have been appointed to the Nebraska Volunteer Service Commission. They are Jessi Moore of Chadron, Nick Davis of Rapid City and Dr. Rick Koza, professor of business. The three were appointed to three-year terms by Gov. Dave Heineman in late February.
Koza is the faculty adviser of Students in Free Enterprise, which has won a governor's Points of Light Award and a First Lady's Award for Outstanding Community Service. Each of those awards are sponsored by the commission.
Moore and Davis, both SIFE members, were each appointed as “commissioners of youth.”
Moore graduated from Gering High School in 2002 and is on the CSC President's List. Recently named Winter Magic Formal queen, she is the reigning Miss Great Plains and will compete for the title of Miss Nebraska in June.
Davis, who is a 2002 graduate of Stevens High School, has been on the President's List and Dean's List at CSC. He is a member of Blue Key Honor Society and is a winner of the American Legion Citizenship Award.
The Nebraska Volunteer Service Commission was established in 1994 to “promote, mobilize and support the efforts of all Nebraskans who are united in strengthening their communities, state, and nation through community service.”
