CSC presidential search making progress

Published:

Progress is being made in searching for a new president at Chadron State College, according to Stan Carpenter, executive director of the Nebraska State College System.

Carpenter said this week that the position has attracted an excellent pool of candidates. He said 30 candidates from the original search conducted last fall have asked to be considered again and there are 35 new applicants.

Carpenter also said that the search committee has narrowed the field and is seeking additional information on the leading candidates. Another meeting of the committee will take place in late April to review the materials and choose the candidates it wants to personally interview.

In January, three men who had been selected as finalists visited Chadron State to meet college personnel, but none of them was hired.

The current president, Dr. Tom Krepel, has resigned effective June 30.
