Each of Chadron State College’s three presidential candidates wrapped up a busy two-day campus visit Thursday afternoon. While on campus, the finalists toured facilities and visited with a broad range of people, including college personnel, students, alumni and foundation board members, and other community members.

The candidates are next scheduled to have formal interviews with the Nebraska State College System Board of Trustees on Friday. The interviews, which will precede an executive session to discuss the appointment, will be conducted at the Gering Civic Center beginning at 7:45 a.m. Board members hope to make a choice within the next week and formally announce the decision at their meeting Thursday, June 9, at Lincoln.

The candidates are Dr. Jonathan Lawson, former vice president for academic affairs at Idaho State University; Dr. Janie Park, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at Montana State University-Billings; and Dr. John “Fritz” Schwaller, vice chancellor for academic affairs and dean at the University of Minnesota-Morris.
