CSC employee art to be shown in M Hall exhibit

An art exhibit featuring the work of about a dozen Chadron State College employees will be shown at Memorial Hall beginning next week. The exhibit “They’re Artists, Too” will kick off with a public reception 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14. The work will be shown in the main gallery through Wednesday, March 2.

Ken Korte, CSC exhibit design and display specialist, said those who attend the exhibit may be surprised by the high quality of the art.

“We have some very artistic people working at CSC,” he said. “This exhibit will include a cross-section of Chadron State employees, including support staff, professional staff and faculty.”

Employees expected to show their work include Don Anderson, math instructor; Marianne Benson, arts and sciences office assistant; Michael Cartwright, language arts professor; Monty Fickel, mathematical sciences chairman; Dewayne Gimeson, publications specialist; Tena Gould, director of admissions; Silas Kern, maintenance repair worker; Randy Lawson, science professor; Lucinda Mays, graduate assistant; April Moravek, admissions office assistant; Bill O’Boyle, head football coach; Connie Rasmussen, foundation executive director; Robin Smith, instructional design coordinator; Kathy Stokey, office assistant for the vice president of administration; and Bob Zillig, maintenance repair worker.

The Memorial Hall main gallery is open to the public 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
