Criminologist to tell about serial killers, hate crimes

A renowned criminologist will talk about serial killers and hate crimes during a presentation at Chadron State College next week. He is Dr. Jack Levin, professor and director of the Brudnick Center on Conflict and Violence at Boston’s Northeastern University. Levin’s presentation will be Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m. at the Student Center ballroom. The event is open to the public free of charge.

Levin is the author or co-author of more than 25 books and is often called upon by the media for his knowledge of hate and violence issues.

He has published more than 150 articles in professional journals and newspapers, such as The New York Times, Boston Globe, Dallas Morning News, Philadelphia Inquirer, Christian Science Monitor, Chicago Tribune and USA Today.

Levin appears frequently on national television programs, including 48 Hours, 20/20, Dateline NBC, The Today Show, Good Morning America, Oprah, Rivera Live, Larry King Live, and all network newscasts.

Levin’s appearance at Chadron State is being arranged by Carl Cousin, CSC student services counselor. Cousin said Levin will sign books following the presentation.
