Couple crowned at Winter Formal

Students pose as homecoming royalty

Jessi Moore of Chadron and Brandon Doke of Ainsworth were crowned Chadron State’s Winter Magic Formal queen and king on Saturday night. Moore and Doke, who are dating each other, were chosen by a vote of Chadron State’s students. There were 43 candidates for the honor.

Moore, who is the reigning Miss Great Plains, is a junior studying human biology. She graduated from Gering High School. Doke, who played in Chadron State’s basketball game against Colorado Christian earlier Saturday evening, is a senior studying biology-environmental studies.

Earning first runner-up were Karissa Johnson of Hershey and Michael Blount of Valentine. Aster Yitayew of Ethiopia and Corey Wasserburger of Fort Worth, Texas, were second runner-up. The third runner-ups were Anita Bartlett of Chadron and Dane Schroder of Stapleton.
