Chadron State College has hired a new external campus programs facilitator to help students and faculty at Chadron State’s distance learning locations. He is Loren Braman of Mitchell.

Braman, who started his duties Jan. 3, is working from Chadron State’s Scottsbluff office. He has developed insight to the Chadron State distance learning programs by working toward a CSC education degree from Scottsbluff the past two years, which he plans to continue.

Prior to taking those courses, he was the occupational safety manager at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff for five years and was employed at Shopko for 15 years, seven of which he served as a loss-prevention regional manager for seven stores.

The Wood River native met his wife Cindy (Scott) while attending Chadron State in 1987-88. He graduated from Kearney State College with a criminal justice degree in 1989 after transferring closer to home to help take care of family. He also holds an associate’s degree from McCook Community College.

The Bramans have two boys, Taran, 10, and Garret, 9.
