Celebration set for Women's History Month

Chadron State College on Wednesday will present “Weaving Women into History,” a celebration to recognize Women’s History Month. The event will be at the Chicoine Atrium of the Sandoz Center from 7-10 p.m. It is open to the public free of charge.

A number of speakers and entertainers have been booked for the event. They include Grete Bodøgaard of Volin, S.D., a professional artist, tapestry weaver and educator who is originally from Norway. Local artist Gwanetha Neff will also give a presentation about weaving and fiber arts. She is the wife of Dr. Jerry Neff, CSC assistant professor of education. In addition, a local comic group, the Menopause Sisters, plans to perform its musical routine.

Child care will be provided for Chadron State students free of charge.

The celebration is being sponsored by the CSC Art Guild and CSC Diversity Committee.
