Services for student, sister-in-law Friday
The Chadron State community has been saddened by the death of one of its students, David Vergil.
Vergil, 23, of Bridgeport, and his sister-in-law, Rita Vergil, 46, of Bridgeport were two of three people killed in a two-vehicle accident in southern Dawes County on U.S. Highway 385 Sunday afternoon.
Services for the Vergils will be Friday, Feb. 13, at 10 a.m. at the Prairie Winds Community Center in Bridgeport. A vigil service will be 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, at the All Souls Catholic Church in Bridgeport.
David Vergil, a first-year student at Chadron State, lived in the High Rise Residence Hall and was a member of the TRIO program. He was a 1999 graduate of Bridgeport High School.
