Works from 14 artists will go on display Friday, Jan. 30 when the second annual Juried Exhibit opens in the Main Gallery of Memorial Hall at Chadron State College. A reception for the artists will be from 4 to 6 p.m.

Fifty-eight pieces were submitted for the exhibit. Slides of the works were sent to John Day, dean of the College of Fine Arts at the University of South Dakota. He selected 17 pieces that will be in the exhibit, which will be open to the public through Feb. 18.

Two pieces from last year’s show were purchased by Chadron State to add to its permanent collection. The director of cultural programs at CSC and coordinator of the Juried Exhibit, Loree MacNeill, said it is anticipated that more works will be purchased this year.
