Graphic designer hired to Chadron State faculty
Graphic designer Mary Donahue of Logan, Utah, has been hired as assistant professor of art at Chadron State College. She will begin teaching at Chadron State when the fall semester begins.
Donahue has been employed at the Utah Agricultural Experiment Station since 1995, where she has provided art direction, design, layout and production of Utah Science, the experiment station’s quarterly magazine.
Originally from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Donahue earned a bachelor’s degree in advertising design in 1987 and a master’s degree in painting in 1994, both from Utah State University at Logan. She was a teaching assistant at the university from 1989-1992.
Donahue also has completed freelance work in design, layout, writing, drawing and painting for more than a dozen clients since 1988, including the Journal of Western American Literature, the Mountain West Center for Regional Studies and the Utah State University magazine.
Her experience includes work in marketing and public relations, and variety of computer software applications for art and publishing.
Donahue’s art has appeared in about 30 exhibitions and several publications.
She and her husband, Alan Dymerski, plan to move to Chadron late this summer.
