Cuny Table is program topic

Published:

An oral history of Cuny Table east of Buffalo Gap, S.D., will be given at the next Phi Alpha Theta History Fraternity program at Chadron State College. The program, which will be open to the public without charge, will be at 12:10 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25 in the Student Center.

The presenter will be Dr. Kathy Bahr, a CSC English professor. She has edited material gathered by a long-time resident of Cuny Table, Virginia Kain Lautenschlager of Hot Springs.

Bahr said Lautenschlager has done an outstanding job of collecting histories of families that settled on Cuny Table, and she is proud to be a part of the project. It is hoped that the material can be put into a book in the near future.
