CSC students attend retreat

Several Chadron State College students attended the Adult Student Leadership Conference held at the Interlaken Resort in Lake Geneva, Wis., Oct. 29-31.

The conference dealt with the development of students as leaders in all aspects of life. It was divided into three specific tracks--leadership, educational/career development and life skills.

The students attended a variety of sessions geared toward each of the tracks. They were encouraged to actively participate in the sessions and network with the other students. Colleges from 10 states were represented.

The CSC students who participated included Aren Dorbrusky, North Bend; Jack Funk, O’Neill; Nathan Kinport, Fremont; and Angel Mizner, Springview.

The trip was sponsored by the Student Support Services/ELITE (Educational Learning Initiatives Towards Excellence) program. The program is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education under the TRiO network of educational opportunity programs. It strives to help students excel academically and persist to graduation.
