CSC presidential search committee named

Eleven members of the Chadron State College staff and one student have been appointed to serve on the college’s Presidential Search Committee. The committee also includes Clyde Franklin, the director of the Pine Ridge Job Corps Center.

 Representing the college are the following:

--Craig Carey, coordinator of the Nelson Physical Activity Center.

--Dr. Margaret Crouse, interim dean the School of Professional and Graduate Studies.

--Vince Hazen, associate professor of art.

--Ed Hoffman, vice president of administration.

--Kathleen Kirsch, assistant professor of speech communications.

--Kathy Mason, office assistant to the dean of students.

--Dr. Norma Nealeigh, associate professor of family and consumer science and president of the Faculty Senate.

--Connie Rasmussen, CSC Foundation executive director.

--Dr. Lois Veath, dean of the School of Arts and Sciences.

--Dr. Wendy Waugh, assistant professor of Management Information Systems.

--Dale Williamson, registrar.

Kari Daly of Hershey, the student representative on the Board of Trustees, is also on the committee.

Stan Carpenter, executive director of the Board of Trustees, said the vacancy is being advertised in the Chronicle of Higher Education and that more than 1,000 letters have been sent to college and university leaders seeking nominations to fill the position.

It is hoped that the search can be completed in February. The committee’s first meeting will be the evening of Monday, Aug. 30.

In late April, Dr. Tom Krepel, president of CSC the past six years, announced his resignation effective June 30, 2005.
