Margetts is associate professor of music at Aims Community College at Greeley, Colo., where he teaches courses in piano, music theory, music history and music appreciation.

He holds a master’s degree in piano performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and is in the final stages for that institution’s doctor of musical arts degree. He received a bachelor’s degree in music from Brigham Young University in 1994.

Prior to his appointment at Aims, Margetts was adjunct assistant professor of music at Millikin University at Decatur, Ill. He was also previously on the keyboard accompanying faculty at BYU.

He has appeared as both soloist and collaborative artist at venues across the United States and an appearance in Puebla, Mexico. A recording, “Four American Horn Sonatas,” with Laurence Lowe was released by Tantara Records in 1999.

Margetts also is active in music teacher organizations and maintains an independent teaching studio in his home. He plans to move to Chadron late this summer with his wife, Colleen, and three children, Spencer, 5, Claire, 2, and Jameson, 1.
