CSC hires education professor

A new assistant professor of elementary education has been hired at Chadron State College. She is Karen Enos, who hopes to complete her doctorate at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion next summer.

Enos is a native of the Upper Midwest, but after graduating from high school in Sioux Falls, S.D., attended California State University at Chico. After earning a bachelor’s degree in English with endorsements in both elementary and secondary education, she taught in California middle schools and high schools seven years.

During the past four years, Enos has attended the University of South Dakota, where she earned a master’s degree in secondary principalship, a specialist degree in elementary principalship and has completed the coursework toward a doctorate in superintendency.

Her husband, Bryan, grew up on a dairy farm in northern California. He plans to complete a degree in recreational administration at CSC. They have two sons—-Stuart, who will be a ninth-grader, and Nicholas, who will be a fifth-grader.

Enos said her interests include quilting, sewing, reading, traveling and gardening.
