CSC hires accounting professor

A native of California with extensive experience in education and business is a new assistant professor of accounting at Chadron State College.
Dr. Robert Jinkens was born and raised in the Los Angeles area. He holds bachelor’s degrees in both business and mathematics and a master of science in business administration with emphasis in finance, all from the University of Southern California. He also has a master of business administration degree from the University of California at Irvine and a Ph.D. in education from the University of Hawaii.
Besides California, he has lived in the Philippines, Okinawa, Japan, El Paso, Tex., Flagstaff, Ariz., and most recently on the island of Oahu in Hawaii.
He has taught accounting and related subjects on the college level for about 25 years, 10 years full-time and 15-part-time while working in grocery store management. He is a certified public accountant in California and Hawaii and has a real estate broker’s license in California.
Jinkens has personally built two homes, one in Arizona and the other in California, and says he is the outdoors type.
He and his wife Bonnie, who is a kindergarten teacher still under contract in Long Beach, Calif., have a springer spaniel, Jonathan.
