The Chadron Community Chorus and Bordeaux Community Band will begin rehearsals soon. The choir’s first session will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2 while the band will strike up at 7 p.m, Tuesday, Sept. 7. The rehearsals will be in Memorial Hall at Chadron State College.

Dr. Roger MacNeill will again direct the chorus and Carola Winkle will direct the band.

This fall, the chorus is combining with the Alliance Community Choir to present concerts in both communities. The concert in Alliance will be Sunday, Nov. 14 and the one in Chadron will be Tuesday, Nov. 16. The main work will be Vivaldi’s “Gloria.”

The band, now in its 11th season, will have its concert on Tuesday, Nov. 9 in Chadron. Next spring, the groups will have a joint concert on March 31.

One hour of college credit is available by participating in either group. A limited number of instruments are available to rent by aspiring band members.

This fall, in addition to the band, a brass quintet and a clarinet choir will be formed. Both will meet immediately after the full band rehearsals on Tuesday nights.
