Chadron State hires conferencing coordinator

Chadron State College’s new coordinator of conferencing is Shellie Johns, a recent CSC graduate who has worked at Chadron State the past 13 years.

As coordinator of conferencing, Johns helps organizations coordinate events on the Chadron State campus, including conventions, workshops, social events, conferences and meetings. She began her new duties July 1.

Since September 2001, Johns has been in charge of the campus inventory. Prior to that, she worked eight years as an office assistant for Financial Aid, following her first job at Chadron State, institutional worker in the Admissions Office.

Johns earned a bachelor’s degree in business with a minor in office management from CSC in May 2003.

Johns has been active in a number of campus efforts and organizations, including a term as president of the college’s Support Staff Association.

Johns, a native of Sheridan, Wyo., lives in Chadron with her husband Jeff, a sergeant on the Chadron Police Department, and their 16-month-old daughter, Samantha.
