The mail clerk is Andrew Smith. The mailroom office is located in the Maintenance Services Building, Room 107. The Maintenance Services Building is located to the west of the Nelson Physical Activities Center (NPAC) in the southwest corner of campus. Call 308-432-6063.

When do packages arrive on campus?

UPS and Fed Ex arrive to the mail room between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Please note the Mailroom is closed from noon to 1 p.m.

How do I know if I get a package?

For students, we email three notices, usually every seven days. If a package is not picked up within 30 days, it will be returned to sender.

  • The name on the package must match the name on your EagleCard
  • Please use the correct residence hall address
  • All packages, both UPS and USPS, must be picked up from the mail room

Employee packages are generally delivered directly to the individual or department with regular mail deliveries.

Sending Mail

Mailing Information for Students
  • UPS and Fed Ex pick up from the Mailroom between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Please note the Mailroom is closed from noon to 1 p.m.
  • The only mail that can be sent out through the Mailroom is anything with a stamp already on it (or a prepaid label for the packages).
  • FedEx and UPS packages to be mailed must be brought to the Mailroom. Trucks do not pick up at dorms.
  • We do not sell stamps.
Mailing Information for Faculty & Staff
  • Items may be mailed FedEx Express, UPS, or USPS.
  • No one is to use the Mailroom’s account number to mail a package unless approved through the Mailroom first.
  • We do not have an account for FedEx Ground.
    • Packages can be mailed FedEx ground with a prepaid label.
    • FedEx Express requires a phone call to FedEx before 10 a.m. the morning it is to be mailed. The Mailroom can make that phone call or it can be done by the person who is mailing.
  • FedEx costs more than UPS, so the item should be mailed UPS if possible. UPS makes its last pickup around 4 p.m. and does have to be called ahead of time
  • All items require a budget code. If no budget code is on the mail, it will be left in the Mailroom until a budget code is put on it.
  • It would be nice if departments would let us know what they are mailing and how they want it mailed when possible. Books, videos, DVDs and music can all be mailed at book rate, which is cheaper. We do not know what is in the sealed envelopes so sometimes we have to mail books at priority rate. Book rate cannot contain first class mail.
  • Our postage meter will seal envelopes, so if you have a large mailing it is much easier to run it through our machine. It will not seal large or thick envelopes.
  • Everyone should try to get their bills and any correspondence addressed to the proper person or department.
    • Example:
      Chadron State College
      Attn: Employee Name (or Department)
      1000 Main St.
      Chadron, NE 69337

Sometimes, online tracking will say that a package has arrived when it is still on the delivery truck. Our phone number is 308-432-6063 and students can always call to check if a package is here. We send out three email notices, usually every seven days. If a package is not picked up within 30 days, it will be returned to sender. All letters from the Post Office will be sent directly to your dorm mailbox if it has the correct address on it. All packages from the Post Office, Fed-Ex, and UPS will be sent to the mailroom and will need to be picked up. The exception is if the address says 1000 Main St. and the Post Office does not know which residence hall it goes to. The only mail that can be sent out through the mail room is anything with a stamp already on it or a prepaid label for the packages. Students must have a picture ID to pick up their packages.
